Does keyword order matter on Shutterstock?

Less than many people assume. Shutterstock displays keywords alphabetically in the contributor portal, and there is no clear public confirmation that keyword order alone affects search ranking the way it does on Adobe Stock.

What matters more on Shutterstock:

• keyword relevance and accuracy
• using the full keyword limit with strong terms (not padding)
• avoiding off-brief or generic keywords that dilute the list.

You can still list your strongest keywords first when submitting, but the bigger lever is which keywords you choose, not their order.
